Life in Mill Hill NW7

Mill Hill is an affluent suburb in the London Borough of Barnet, England. It is an area situated nine miles (14.3 km) north west of Charing Cross. Mill Hill was in the historic county of Middlesex until it was absorbed by London. Mill Hill consists of several distinct parts: the old original centre based around Mill Hill Village; the later-developed but now main hub of the area at Mill Hill Broadway, and the area around Mill Hill East. A further area at the western edge of the suburb, The Hale, is on the borders of Mill Hill and Edgware, and is partly in each.

Mill Hill Broadway

The modern-day centre of Mill Hill is at Mill Hill Broadway (previously known as Lawrence Street). This is a suburban district which developed from the 1890s onwards, and especially in the early part of the 20th century, after the arrival of the Midland Railway station in 1868. The Broadway itself is now an important local retail area with numerous shops and cafes and transport links

Life in East Finchley N2

East Finchley is a surburban area in the London Borough of Barnet, in north London, and situated 5.4 miles (8.7 km) north-west of Charing Cross. Geographically it is somewhat separate from the rest of Finchley, with North Finchley and West Finchley to the north, and Finchley Central to the west.

The land on which East Finchley now stands was once part of the Bishop of London’s hunting ground. More recently, it was home to some grand ‘country’ estates of wealthy Londoners, from which several roads take their names (e.g. Summerlee Avenue, Park Hall Road). The suburb began to be developed in the 1890s.

Life in Whetstone N20

Whetstone is a surburb in the London Borough of Barnet, bearing the postcode N20. It is to the east of Totteridge, and these areas are known together as Totteridge & Whetstone. This combined area is the 63rd richest area in the UK an acclamation which can be credited to Totteridge Lane, a long road home to many multi-millionaires. The High Road, the main road in the area, is the A1000 and part of the traditional Great North Road from London to Edinburgh.

Life in North Finchley N12

North Finchley is an affluent suburb of London in the London Borough of Barnet, situated 7 miles (11.3 km) north-west of Charing Cross.

North Finchley is centred on Tally Ho Corner, the junction of the roads to East Finchley, Church End, Friern Barnet and Whetstone. Church End is often known as Finchley Central, due to the name of the tube station.

Tally Ho Corner

It is primarily a residential and shopping area, with several supermarkets and many restaurants. The artsdepot, a local community arts centre including a gallery, a studio and a theatre, opened on October 23, 2004, in an attempt to revitalise the area and to fill a gap created by the demolition of the Gaumont cinema, and what had become an open air market.

The area has mainly 19th century housing ranging from quaint Victorian cottages to substantially larger Victorian double-fronted houses. There is also a dominant Edwardian style toward Woodside Park and Nether Street but with some modern houses, probably built between 1930s and 1960s, towards Friern Barnet. On Friern Barnet Lane there are some mansion style properties and on Tally-Ho corner, a development of luxury flats, above the artsdepot with views over Mill Hill and Hertfordshire. There are few Local Authority estates in the area but the largest, and still pleasant, is in Woodside Park where ex-Spice Girl Emma Bunton grew up.

The new North Finchley bus station opened in 2004, but closed several months later due to safety issues after a pensioner walked into the shelter through the wrong entrance, was hit by a bus, and died. The bus station was reopened in March 2007 after safety improvements were implemented. They included the addition of a barrier at the exit and a public address system. A week after the reopening, the barriers were declared faulty. “Incompetence”, Hendon and Finchley Times, 2007-03-21 The barrier was refitted a week after the fault was declared.

The original bus station was close to the site of the new one. It had a single bus lane next to where the “artsdepot” now stands and it was closed shortly before construction began of that and the new bus station. The old bus station was served by routes 82, 260 and 134 which all terminated at North Finchley. However, due to the direction the new bus station now faces, it is served by routes 82 and 460, which cover that part of the suspended 260 route between North Finchley and Willesden, as that route was shortened. It is also served by through routes 221 and 125 to Edgware and Finchley Central, respectively. The Cricketers pub used to stand adjacent to the old bus station.

A Superb Buy to Let Opportunity with attractive yields in North West London

00002Throughout recent years we see that the transformed Colindale area has been a major attraction for investors. This is mainly due to newly-built developments such as the Pulse which provide impeccable buy-to-let opportunities and the ability for these brand new properties to attract high quality tenants. The Pulse development is spread out over an outstanding 13 acre location and caters for 700 apartments which offer parking (both on and off-street) and green areas spread throughout. The development will also be offering on-site commercial services in the future such as supermarkets, spa’s, bars and restaurants to maintain the aim of capital living for all residents.

Through our recent experiences with letting and managing properties in these developments we have gathered that they are an extremely popular option for long-term tenants. The main reasons for this are that the apartments offer; brand new luxury living space, security, easy parking, good quality kitchen and bathroom sets and lastly “great location”! As most buy-to-let investors will tell you, location is a major factor influencing good quality property investment and transport links which provide an easy commute to city central areas will attract professional tenants and allow capital gain in the long-term. This puts the Pulse at an advantage in comparison to most other developments in the area as all Pulse apartments are located under a five minute walk from Colindale’s northern line train station and surrounding bus stops.

Pulse Apartment Prices: Studio Apartments – From £149,995 One Bedroom Apartments –
From £199,995 Two Bedroom Apartments – From £249,995 Three Bedroom Apartments –
From £299,995

The apartments feature fitted carpets to entrance halls, living rooms and master bedrooms, ceramic tiling to kitchen and bathroom floors and beech effect internal doors throughout. Also, kitchens benefit from slate grey laminate worktops; stainless steel 1.5 bowls sink with chrome mixer tap, Electrolux appliances and ceramic hob, integrated washer/dryers and built in recycling bins. Lastly, all apartments and communal areas offer audio/visual entry systems, security locks to all ground and podium level external doors and windows, front door spy holes and smoke detectors throughout.

As experienced lettings negotiators we have successfully rented out a number of properties at the Pulse. We have also identified the need for more of these properties as the rental market is currently suffering from a shortfall of rental properties and a surplus of professional applicants. Therefore we are willing and able to walk you through getting involved with investment opportunities like this and can provide services from finding a suitable investment property to having it occupied and enjoying good rental income with our favorable “Let Only” and “Full Management” service rates.
